Dr. Graham obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at Michigan State University in East Lansing Michigan, with high honors, in 1974. He obtained his Doctorate degree in Medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan, with distinction, in 1978. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society while at Wayne State. He did his internship and neurosurgical residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC and neuro-oncology research at the national Institute of health in Bethesda Maryland,
Fellowship trained in spine surgery and spinal cord injury, Dr. Cannestra has a wide range of neurosurgical expertise and serves as Director of the Baptist Robotic Spine Surgery program. A founding member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery, Dr. Cannestra is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurologic Surgery, a member of the American Association of Neurologic Surgeons, the Congress of Neurologic Surgeons, and the National Association of Spine Surgeons.
